The next helper function we will need for our key expansion is SubWord. SubWord takes an input of 4 bytes like the previous function, and returns an output of 4 bytes as well. SubWord is basically an Sbox, each bytes are checked against a look up table and replaced by their associated value. Here's the look up table:
