Overcook puts you right in the game. No annoying tutorial. Here you learn as you play, from easy to more difficult levels.
The co-op campaign is definitely one of the best I've played in a boyfriend/girlfriend coop game. We finished it in a week, and we always wanted to play more.
The goal is to cook recipes for customers of the restaurant. They appear at the top of the screen and give you an implicit amount of time for you to serve them. If you're too slow, you lose money, if you're fast you get a tip. Recipes and levels vary, and can become tricky :)
But the real fun is in the distribution of tasks. You can cut ingredients, cook them in pots and pans, assemble a dish, wash the dishes, ... There is so much to do that you can't do it alone. That's where cooperation kicks in. Without communication, and good team play, there is no victory.
We tried the versus mode and it was not that enjoyable as one was clearly better than the other :) but I can't wait to try this mode with 4 players as it seems real fun.
Overall the game is cute, simple, and easy to get in. If they would release more levels as a DLC they would take more of my money. And now I'm wishing more games were like this one...
David's rating:I loved this game. Not sure if it is because I love food and it reminded me about a game that I used to play when I was little, but the game is very entertaining and it is totally worth the money.
The idea of the game is really cool. Imagine that you have a restaurant and you have to cook, serve and do the dishes for your clients. You also have a timer and a number of orders that you have to honor if you want to pass the level.
So far it is my favorite, I really hope that I will be able to find more games similar to overcooked. It encouraged me to try more games and changed my opinion about games from being a loss of time to an activity you can enjoy with your partner.

Behind this weird name™, hides itself a super cute and simple tower defense.
For those who don't know what a tower defense game is: you have to protect your house/city hall/base against waves of enemies. The first wave is easy, the next wave a bit harder, etc... Your only mean of defense is to build towers on their path to decimate them before they can reach home sweet home. Different towers deal different kind of damages. And that's basically the gist.
The game is uber simple. It's so simple it could be played on a tablet. This is a good thing if one of you is not a gamer, this is less of a good thing as it will get boring and slow the more you play it. But I do want to say that we spent quite a few hours having fun before it got to that point :)
You control this little cute thing, in a cute forest accompanied by a cute music. In exchange of coins you will be able to change a tree into a limited list of towers. Overall it's as a good and basic game to get your girlfriend to play with you, But expect the game not to be too challenging and to get really boring/slow after some time.
David's rating:This was among the first games that David and I tried. I am not a gamer and David made some efforts to convince me to at least give it a try.
I liked it from the beginning, maybe because it was a game that is very easy to understand and there are no complicated requirements or too many buttons combinations (I am still getting used to the controllers).
It’s a tower defense game (that’s something that I learned about games, apparently they have categories).
I had no idea what a tower defense game was. Basically all you have to do is to protect your house and make sure that your people don’t get attacked by the monsters.
The levels aren’t that hard if you don’t want to finish all of them with a perfect score. If you do want to do that, you will need a strategy, because it is easy to finish the level but not that easy to finish it with a perfect score. (I am talking from my perspective, not from a hardcore player perspective).
Overall, I enjoyed Pixel Junk and I would totally recommend it if you are at a very early stage of your “gamer career” 😀 .
